Quality can be defined as the totality of characteristics of a Product that bear on its - ability to satisfy stated or implies needs.

The term quality can be described as an attribute or characteristic of an item.
As an attribute of an item quality refers to measurable characteristics, things we can compare to known standards such as color, length e.t.c.

Quality can be defined as the degree of customer satisfaction.

Stated Needs: Good quality ex. Pen with a metal body.
Implied Needs: Basic needs ex. Pencils with the ability to write.

Quality and Dimensions of Software Quality
Software Quality:- 
1. Correctness:- Ability of software to perform their task as defined on customer requirements.
2. Reusability:- Ability of software to use in many other systems.
3. Efficiency:- To perform good hardware tasks.
4. Portability:- To manage and transfer the software or software functions with other systems.
5.Integrity:- Security to prevent unauthorized access.

1. Quality of Conformance is the degree to which design specification is followed.
2. Quality of Performance is associated with the reliability of the product.
3. Quality of Design is the Characteristics that designers should specify for an item.
